Back from vacation
Journal Entry: Sat Jul 5, 2008, 12:19 PM
Well, took the family on a little vacation this last week. Got back in time last night to sit on the back porch and watch our neighbors entertain us with their fireworks. It was really quite a show overlooking our little "lake."
Didn't go too far really, just over to Orlando and stayed at a time share my wife's uncle has, but wasn't going to use his week, so we took it. Saves a lot of money that way. Just a small transfer fee, much better than spending a week in a hotel.
Got a 7-day pass to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure and my son and I just wore ourselves out. I think we got to see and ride everything we really wanted to while we were there. We didn't go all 7 days. We were there Saturday night, Monday all day, and a good portion of Wednesday.
The new Simpson's Ride at Universal is pretty cool. My son didn't think it was worth the 1 hour 15 minute wait we had on Saturday, but was much happier with it on Wednesday when we only had to wait 10 minutes. Other than that he really liked The Mummy ride at Universal. I'd say we rode that the most.
We did several really cool things on the nights we didn't go to the parks. Sunday night was Blue Man Group and that was freaking awesome! What a great show. Didn't really know what to expect, but it was worth the money. We also went to one of our favorite things to do when we are in Orlando; Sleuth's Mystery Dinner Theatre. The shows are always funny and they do about 14 different ones I believe so your chances of seeing the same one are small. After all these years of going there we did finally see the same one this time. At least I remembered who did it and I got a nice, shiny, plastic badge for my deductive abilities.
We ended the week in St. Augustine which is a very cool place if you are into history. Being the oldest city in America it tends to have a lot of history. We actually cut our time there short because we were just plain tired of running around. I don't think vacations should be so tiring. So we are back home recuperating.
And now that I'm back it's time to back to the drawing board. I think I need some Marvel and DC characters up here on the site. Maybe that would get a few more passerbys here. So, if you stop by and read this give me an idea or two of who you'd like to see me draw. I have an idea or two of my own, but I'd love to hear from you out there.
P.S. I couldn't change my Mood when I typed this so forgive me. I'm feeling much better than when I was sick when I wrote the last one. I'll try and come back to change it later. It just isn't giving me any choices right now.
